Do I need to create an account ?
If you only want to search for your next dream home, creating an account is not necessary. You can access the search feature from any page on the site without having to be logged in. However, if you want to sell or rent your property, creating an account is mandatory. It's the only way to help us give you the possibility to modify your ad as many times as you like after posting it the first time.
I can't login.
First, make sure you're using the right password. If you forgot your password, please use the Forgot your password ? link on the Members login page to request that we email it to you. Also, our site uses cookies to give you access to the members only area. Make sure cookies are enabled in your browser.
What if I lose my password ?
As long as you still remember the email address you used to sign up with us, we can remind you your password. Just click on the Forgot your password ? link on the Members login page and we'll email you your password to the address you used when you registered with us.
How do I change my personal info and/or password ?
After logging in, click on the My profile link in the menu to your left. There, you'll be able to change your contact information, password, etc...
Placing an ad to sell or rent a home
How come your site is free for personal for sale ads ? What is the catch ?
Our goal is not really to make money but to provide a free and useful community service on a permanent basis. No catch, no payment, no agents, no contract...
How do I place an ad ?
First, log in using your email address and password on the Members login page (if you do not have an account yet, you'll need to register with us; don't worry, it's free!). Then, click on the Place a new ad link in the menu to your left; we'll guide you through our six easy steps to place an ad from there.
Must I complete all 6 steps to place a new ad ?
We advise you to complete at least the first two steps to provide basic information (type, address, built year, title and description) about your property. If you have some time to spare, the four remaining steps will let you specify additional information about your property (building and terrain areas, municipal evaluation, taxes, property features, rooms description and pictures) and will ensure your property gets noticed. All in all, placing a detailed ad should only take you a few minutes.
Can I add details or modify my ad afterwards ?
Of course. Just log back in whenever you want and you'll be able to modify any detail about your property, as many times as you like.
When will my ad be visible to potential buyers and renters ?
A personal for sale ad will automatically be activated after completing the first of our six simple ad creation steps. Other commercial ads will need to be activated manually in the My ads menu.
In the My ads window, what does the nb of appearances stands for ?
The number of appearances statistics help you keep track of your ad's impact on potential buyers and renters. The first number indicates how many times your ad appeared in search results while the second number (the one in parenthesis) refers to how many times users clicked on your ad to look at it in detail.
How can I delete a room/picture during the ad editing step number 5/6 ?
Just click on the Minus sign button located next to the room or on top of the image you want to delete.
Can I send you my pictures for you to scan and insert into my ad ?
Unfortunately, no. With digital cameras being so affordable, we rely on owners to take their own pictures and upload their digital picture files. This way, you always stay in control. Be also aware that we only accept .jpg files and that the maximum resolution allowed for picture uploads is 640x480. We will also automatically resize any picture to an appropriate size for our database while keeping it crisp and colorful.
How do I decide in which order my pictures will be presented?
The first image you upload in the 6th ad editing step will be considered as the main picture. When viewing your ad, any additional pictures will be presented below your main picture in the order in which you upload them. You can however use the Move left and Move right buttons located below each image you uploaded in the 6th step window to move them around in the order you wish them to appear. Remember that the first picture will always be considered as your property's main picture.
How come my inputs are not taken into account ?
Make sure to click on the Save button at the end of each step to save the inputs made in the current step. Make also sure that no errors are displayed when clicking on the Save button. Should errors be detected, you'll need to correct before saving your inputs.
Modifying an ad
Will I be able to modify my ad as many times as I want ?
Of course. This way, you can adjust your ad description and title as you see fit or you can enter that last detail that will make your ad perfect. Bottom line, you'll always be able to modify your ad, as many times as you like.
How do I modify my ad ?
First, log in. Then click on the My ads link in the menu to your left. You'll then be presented with all the properties for which you placed an ad with us. Click on any of the six action buttons to the left of the main picture of the ad you wish to modify and make the changes you want. Don't forget to click on the Save button when you're finished.

Searching for specific listings
How do I search for a property ?
You can search for a home for sale or for rent using the Search box located at the left of every page. There, you can specify the type of property you're looking for, a price range, its location along with the minimum number of bedrooms and bathrooms. All these fields are optional and you can leave any or all of them untouched if you need to. Once you've specified these parameters, launch the search by clicking the Go button at the bottom of the form.
Is there an advanced search feature ?
Of course. Start by launching a basic search using the form at the left of the page. Once you've obtained your search results, you can filter them using the Search filters form to your left, to specify a sorting order, a minimum built year, amenities you're interested in, etc.
Viewing an ad
What does the "Download a brochure" link do ?
The Download a brochure link lets users download a PDF file describing the current property. If you're a potential buyer or renter, use it to store on your computer brochures of properties you're interested in, to compare them later on. If the ad is yours, use it to print brochures of your property in a printer friendly format, and hand them over to potential buyers and renters, or email it to friends to advertise your property. Note that Adobe Acrobat Reader™ is required to open PDF documents and is available for free on Adobe's website.
What does the "Obtain directions" link do ?
The Obtain directions link lets users obtain driving directions to the current property via Google Maps.

What does the Search box located at the top of each page do ?
This Search field lets users search the site (FAQ, resources, etc.) for any given word(s). We do not advise you to use it to search for properties mainly because its data may not include the latest properties and because it does not offer any kind of filters; if you want to search for properties, use the form located at the left of this page.

What are your privacy policies ?
Our privacy policies can be found here. In short, we collect as little personal information as possible on every user. Only your name, email address and phone numbers are stored in our database to allow buyers and renters to contact you. Period. We do not sell any of this information to third parties and we will not contact you except to promote new helpful features and when you ask us to, for customer support reasons. Moreover, we do everything we can to ensure your privacy. As an example, to protect you from spam, we encrypt all our users' email addresses when we display them on our site so that only real users and not harvesting bots can obtain them.
